Dr Simon Moss

I consider myself to be a local. I grew up in City Beach, graduated from the University of Western Australia and choose to live close enough to the practice that I don’t need a car.

I have worked at Glen Street Practice since 1999 and am the business owner. I divide my time between seeing patients and attending to the administrative aspects of the business.

I enjoy the special nature of general practice, the connection with the community and the ongoing relationship with the patients unique to this specialty. The challenge is the almost unlimited scope of what patients can present with but that is also why it is always interesting. I host medical students at Glen Street - some of whom will become the next generation of family doctors.

I see all types of general practice patients but I am interested in skin diseases and spend some time each week doing biopsies, cryotherapy and skin surgery for skin cancers and the like.

Outside the surgery I can be found on the tennis court or on my bike for some fresh air and fitness.

Many of my patients know I disappear to France for a month in the middle of each year. My partner and I have a small property in the heart of L’Isle sur la Sorgue, a lovely town of waterways, waterwheels, markets and antiques in Provence. This has been an interesting venture and I am now a dab hand at French plumbing.

Dr Alison Kerr

I am a graduate of the University of Western Australia and completed my training in local and UK hospitals before deciding that general practice was the most interesting area to work. Since then I have worked at a number of Perth metropolitan practices before settling at Glen St Practice.

It is my privilege to be in general practice and to work with my patients to improve their health. I enjoy family medicine and have developed an interest in paediatrics and women’s health.  I am experienced in children's health checks and vaccinations, antenatal care and continuing care of the whole family.

My post graduate education includes a Fellowship of the College of General Practitioners, I have diplomas in obstetrics and paediatrics and continue to learn by tutoring medical students. General practice is constantly evolving and I enjoy the challenge of staying abreast of the changes.

I have an interest in geriatric medicine and spend most of my week consulting in local aged care homes.  On Thursday I am available to see patients at Glen Street Practice.

In addition to health care in the elderly, my medical interests include paediatrics, women's health and disability care.

I grew up in Perth and attained my Medical degree in the University of Western Australia.

I trained locally in RPH, SCGH, KEMH, PMH , Bentley Hospital and spent 6 months working in Cottage Hospice.

I have an interest in women's health, preventative medicine and family medicine.

I like to travel and experience different cultures, their music and food. I also enjoy cooking, but unfortunately the food doesn't always turn out like they do in the pictures.

I feel it is important to have a well balanced work and family life.
